Rolls-Royce reveals it has sold more cars in 2021 than in any other year in its 117-year history

Rolls-Royce had a record sales of 5,586 cars last year, as it is estimated that “the pandemic made the super-rich realize that ‘life can be short'”.

According to foreign media, the Businesscrafter reports, the luxury brand, whose cars have mostly high prices, sold the most vehicles globally in its 117-year history.

Chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos said: “Many people witnessed that people in their community were dying from Covid-19 and this made them think that life could be short and it would be better to live now than to postpone it for a date. later ”.

“It also helped a lot to [encourage people] to invest in what I would call the beautiful things in the world.”

And the Sussex-based company, owned by BMW, with no sales growth in any region of the world.

Germany’s Muller-Otvos explained: “It’s more because of Covid that all the luxury business is booming around the world.”

“People could not travel much, they could not invest much in luxury services… and there is a lot of money being spent on luxury goods.”

Thus, many buyers were adding to their existing Rolls-Royce collections – as most owners have more than one.

The firm said it enjoyed a ‘phenomenal year’ with high demand for all models, particularly the Ghost limousine and Cullinan SUV, reporting all-time records in most sales regions, including China, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. and in many countries around the world.
