Rovanpera wins at Rally Kenya

Toyota Gazoo’s Finnish driver Kalle Rovanpera won the 6th leg of the World Rally Championship (WRC) held in Kenya.

Rovanpera, who completed the fight over 19 stages hosted by Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, in 3 hours 40 minutes and 24 seconds, reached the fourth victory of the season.

Rovanpera’s teammates, Elfyn Evans, finished 2nd, 52 seconds behind the leader, and Takamoto Katsuta was 3rd, 1 minute and 42 seconds behind.

With this result, the entire podium was made up of the drivers of the Toyota Gazoo team.

Rovanpera, the Finnish driver of the Toyota Gazoo team, which is at the top of the WRC this year’s drivers’ classification with 145 points; Kenya achieved victory in 4 stages in total, including Sweden, Croatia and Portugal rally.

French Sebastien Loeb from M-Sport Ford won the Monte Carlo Rally and the Estonian driver Ott Tanak of Hyundai Shell Mobis won the Rally Italy Rally.

The Finnish driver, who was at the top of the general classification, was followed by Thierry Neuville (Hyundai Shell Mobis) with 80 points and Tanak with 62 points.

The 7th leg of the WRC will be held in Estonia from 14-17 July.
